Atmospheric mirage simulated by raymarching through a temperature-dependent refractive index gradient
Pathtracing in Euclidean space with a spatially varying index of refraction simulating atmospheric mirage. Light rays curve as they pass through layers of air with different temperatures, causing distant objects to appear displaced or duplicated. The refractive index gradient is computed per-step during raymarching.
