Expanding geodesic spheres in Nil geometry, animated to show increasing distortion at larger radii
This program animates the expansion of a geodesic sphere in Nil geometry over time, with an earth texture applied to make the geometric distortion clearly visible. As the sphere grows, the twisting effect of the Heisenberg group geometry becomes more pronounced, stretching and rotating the texture in the fiber direction. This animated version shows how the shape of geodesic spheres in Nil evolves from nearly round at small radii to increasingly distorted at larger scales.
