GPU simulation of the quantum double-slit experiment via the 2D time-dependent Schrödinger equation
This program numerically solves the time-dependent Schrodinger equation in two dimensions on the GPU, simulating the classic double-slit experiment at the quantum level. A Gaussian wavepacket approaches a barrier with two narrow slits, and the resulting diffraction and interference pattern emerges in the probability density on the far side. Unlike the classical wave equation, the Schrodinger equation produces complex-valued wavefunctions with characteristic quantum interference fringes.
