GPU-raymarched isosurfaces of hydrogen wavefunctions $\psi_{n,\ell,m}$, colored by sign
The hydrogen atom wavefunctions ψn,ℓ,m are built from associated Laguerre polynomials and spherical harmonics. This program renders isosurfaces of ∣ψ∣ using GPU raymarching, coloring the surface by the sign of the wavefunction. The quantum numbers cycle automatically or can be selected by clicking, and for m=0 the complex phase rotates over time, animating the orbital. Lighting and normals are computed via finite differences of the signed distance function.
