Gravitational three-body problem integrated numerically in real time, exhibiting chaotic orbits
The three-body problem concerns the motion of three masses interacting under mutual Newtonian gravitation. Unlike the two-body problem, it has no general closed-form solution and exhibits sensitive dependence on initial conditions. This program numerically integrates the equations of motion in real time, tracing the trajectories of three gravitating bodies and displaying the resulting chaotic or periodic orbits in three dimensions.
