Quantum diffraction of a wave packet through a periodic array of potential barriers
This program numerically solves the time-dependent Schrodinger equation for a wave packet encountering a periodic array of potential barriers. The wave diffracts around each barrier and the transmitted wavelets interfere constructively and destructively, producing a diffraction pattern analogous to the optical diffraction of light by a grating. The spacing and height of the barriers control the resulting interference pattern.
