Mapping class group of the torus acting on texture coordinates via Dehn twists and the Anosov map
Displays a torus with a texture whose coordinates are transformed by elements of the mapping class group. The user can choose between the identity, Dehn twist, and Anosov map, and iterate them repeatedly. The effect of these SL(2,Z) matrices on the torus’s fundamental domain is visualized through the distortion of the texture.
