Interactive geodesic board with six surface presets showing how curvature governs geodesic deviation
A second interactive geodesic board where users can drag on the surface to adjust the initial position and direction of a family of geodesics. The geodesics are computed by numerically integrating the geodesic equation on the surface and rendered as metallic tubes over a procedural wood-grain board.
Six different surface presets are available, each defined by a different height function z=f(x,y) with varying curvature profiles. The piece illustrates how Gaussian curvature governs geodesic deviation: positive curvature focuses geodesics while negative curvature causes them to spread apart.
