The Mathematical Art Digital Exhibition at Queens College, CUNY shows mathematical artwork on screens in The Matrix, a multimedia space in the mathematics department, alongside an online gallery. Work was selected from more than 130 submissions by artists in 17 countries.
Our entry was Inside Thurston Geometries, submitted under the name of the 3-dimensional.space project — joint work with Rémi Coulon, Sabetta Matsumoto and Henry Segerman. Rather than pictures of curved spaces seen from outside, it renders the view from within them: what you would see standing inside each of the eight geometries Thurston identified as the building blocks of three-dimensional space, and inside compact manifolds built from them.
